alexpereira asked: Sometimes when somebody initiates without an opening and without anything really unusual, I think in my head, "where can I put this line that would make it unusual yet still sorta make sense?" Bad? (Asking for a friend...)

I am against initiations that are so small they are boring and in fact will be rambling about that tomorrow. But if someone dumps a small boring initiation on you, worry about just agreeing the first time, and then make a big jump in the next line. Because maybe he/she has something in mind? Even if not, it’s a bad habit to try and AND before you’ve YESSed which is what it sounds like you’re describing, or so I think! Standard qualification of this being just my opinion here.
